About Nourish

Nourish fosters the transition toward health care systems that are more preventative, equitable, and sustainable.

Food is fundamental to health and healing. So why is hospital so famously, well, lacking?

Food is much more than sustenance. It’s culture and connection. It’s medicine. And it’s a powerful way of showing we care. That’s why Nourish believes food should be at the heart of health care. We’re on a mission to change the way food is served in health care settings — not just for the well-being of patients, but for the dedicated people caring for them; for growers and food producers; for our communities; and for the planet we all share. Join us as we nourish change in health care.ent

Nourish works with health care organizations, communities, and policy-makers throughout Canada to improve food in health care—one hospital tray at a time.

“I highly recommend that everyone takes Nourish Food is Our Medicine course. We need to embrace the idea of combining wisdom from Western, Indigenous, and Eastern cultures so that we may gain a better understanding of our roles in Reconciliation, healing, and health care.”

~ Phoebe Lee, Community Dietitian, Black Creek Community Health Centre
