100 Million Better Bites

A national movement to improve health, sustainability, and cultural connection through food in health care.

Nourish’s national strategic agenda to 2030

More than 100 million meals are served in Canadian hospitals each year. That’s 100 million opportunities to improve health, strengthen communities, support local economies, honour cultural traditions, and reduce environmental impact.

Through 100 Million Better Bites, Nourish is mobilizing health care organizations across Canada to transform what’s on the tray—and, in doing so, help transform both food and health care systems. Guided by five pillars—low-carbon entrées, delicious nutrition, cultural mindfulness, sustainably produced food, and locally sourced food—every better bite moves us closer to a healthier, more sustainable future.

Our food and health systems are in crisis. Our communities, patients, and teams can’t wait.
