Our Work

Nourish works alongside health care providers, community leaders, and policy-makers to spark change at the individual, community, and planetary levels where food and health intersect.

Canadian health care organizations have a tremendous opportunity to reduce food waste and reimagine hospital food as low-carbon culturally mindful, seasonal, sustainable, and responsibly sourced.

Nourish supports leaders, within and beyond the walls of health care, to leverage the power of food, so that health and food systems become more preventative, equitable, and sustainable.

Food is Our Medicine

Nourish’s Food is Our Medicine learning journey grows understanding around the importance between Indigenous foodways, Truth and Reconciliation, and health equity.

Planetary Health

Crafting a sustainable health care menu is a delicious way to support human and planetary health. Switching to plant forward, local, and low-waste menus is something all health care organizations can do.

National Cohorts

Nourish’s cohorts foster innovation where food and health systems intersect. Through peer learning, mentorship, and experimentation, the cohorts find pathways to drive systemic leadership in food and health systems.

Nourish Symposium

Nourish convenes food and health care leaders for timely conversations around food for health. Our Symposium brings together inspirational speakers and thought leaders for experiential workshops and immersive learning journeys.

“Thankfully, there’s a hospital food revolution underway… a push to make what is served on the hospital tray more palatable, patient-friendly, and planet-friendly.”
